Kenna's first Christmas

For the last 6 months I have been comparing baby pictures of Adelyn to those of McKenna, really trying to sort out if they look JUST alike as some people say, or just look similar as I think, or are going to wind up looking totally different! Just for fun I thought I would post some pictures from McKenna's first Christmas...

She was only 3 months and 2 days old in this picture (with gifts from my awesome aunt who passsed away several years ago - she lived in San Antonio as well and I wish so often she were here to see the girls...) Pretty similar looking?

I'll have to post a side-by-side next...

Then there was the first Santa trip for Kenna! Not sure what that face means, but at least she didn't cry! Frisco, Texas has one of the best looking Santa's around (no offense to the one at the Quarry this year!) and she didn't seem very scared - boy how things have changed!

Gotta love the Johnny Jumper!

So anybody who has seen Adelyn lately knows that she loves to jump! On your lap, in the exersaucer, and in the johnny jumper! Kenna and I were "building" in the garage with some of Joel's blocks of wood, so Adelyn got to hang out in the jumper, and I just had to get a clip of her in action... Recently she has started jumping then pulling her feet up and just rides for awhile, all with a silly grin! and of course I am just signing "up" and "jump" the whole time... what will be her first sign? :)

just so kenna doesn't feel left out, here is a pic of one of her creations with the blocks! Not sure who she is hollering at over there - probably one of the cats! Seriously, i can't believe she got them to stand like that, and i didn't help her at all! course then she just likes to knock it all down...

My first blog!

Sooo much to say, so little time! I always tell Joel I just want 25 or 26 hours in a day, since something is always getting put off until tomorrow.... but posting some thoughts and pics of my girls today will help me remember the important moments and what is getting done! ;)

So in celebration of the holidays I am posting this year's photo with Santa as my first post! Since seeing the holiday show at the kids' theater last week, Kenna has wanted to go see Santa, and take her baby sister! All day long, "are we still going to go see Santa"... "are we headed to the mall yet", etc. etc. We get to the Quarry, and loving that there is no line go right into Santa's workshop! Kenna takes one look at him and hides behind my back. Adelyn, who had fallen asleep in the car on the way, wakes up, so I plop her in Santa's lap - no problem. Meanwhile Santa is trying to ask Kenna what she wants for Christmas, high five, anything to get her to talk - she's ready to bolt out the door except she knows I'm not going. Then Santa pulls out a candy cane and she blurts out "But I want that!" All she wants for Christmas is a candy cane... I have obviously overspent again this year (not much Joel!) So we finally talk her into sitting next to Adelyn and holding her hand and get a "cheesy" grin out of her. Adelyn was just mesmerized by the flashing light! Then one of Santa's helpers pulls out some antlers, and you can just see Kenna light up - her hands even look like "yes!"



So, thus this was the best picture...
