We love Mike Blakely

I think the first time we heard of Mike Blakely was when Joel and i went to Hondo's in Fredericksburg years ago for an anniversary trip, but in the last 4 years or so we have made many family occasions revolve around going to see Mike play, with or without another country music buddy of his, John Arthur Martinez. My parents frequently catch him in Marble Falls and have all his albums! I think one of Kenna's first Spanish phrases was "mejor que nada", the title of one of mike Blakely's songs! He's just good, easy listening country music, and funny too!

So mom called yesterday to let me know he was playing at a little BBQ place not 2 minutes from our house here in NRH! I packed up the girls since Joel was still comin' in from out of town, and found a great table on the outdoor patio of Cotton Belt BBQ and let the girls dance away! I don't have the video downlaoded yet, but imagine a free-spirited 3 year old with butterfly wings and a really big guitar who likes to spin around in circles and you have kenna. Adelyn is the barely 1 giggle-grinner who still likes to bounce up and down like she's in the johnny jumper while shaking or waving anything I will let her hold on to (like the dirty paper towel from dinner...)

Play Time!

So even though we are still unpacking some boxes, and i just started working part time again at the Life Time Fitness in Colleyville, we have tried to get out and have some fun! Here are some recent play days!

With Brayden and PJ (and Aunt Tammy!) at the Wiggles play center:

Brayden and Kenna I can get it! Can i join the group?

Here are a few pics from Paradise Pond, the play area at FBC in Grapevine... sort of nice to have both girls engaged and playing, but so hard to chase them both around - Adelyn is quick too!

And our neighborhood had their first annual block party several weeks ago - the local police made an appearance, and thankfully Kenna didn't think it would even be cool to sit in the police car - she stuck close to Papa! And AD decided to show off her true Aggie spirit! Gig 'Em!
