Slip and slide fun!

With a refund from Walgreens for recalled medicines I bought our water toy for the summer - a good old slip and slide! Not as long as I remember from my childhood, but that's ok since neither of my girls can seem to get up enough speed to slide all the way down! I finally got Kenna to back up as far as she could and really run at it, but Adelyn still likes to walk about halfway down then slide on her knees :) Almost bought the double-wide - that may be next!

Cracking me up with her 'running start' pose!

Kenna has the slide thing down, but Adelyn just walks to the end then plops down!

Love the facial expressions from this view! :)

'Yeehaw' she says :)

More birthday fun!

So I had a credit at Gymboree Play and Music for some classes we didn't make it to, so they let me put it towards a little birthday party for Adelyn! Just a few friends (and their older brothers and sisters - Kenna was happy too!) and the kids had a blast...

Pretending to be "butterflies"

We LOVE Gymboree bubbles!

Of course some fun on the parachute...

Cousin Peyton!

I think she was pointing to the bubbles on the shelf but it almost looks like she's pointing at Gymbo! Wish I could get one of these bouncer things for the house... could certainly let the girls burn some energy on that!

Look at me :)

Bouncing on the air log...

The butterfly cup-cake!

She is so excited to be three! Except that means more try-it bites of new foods and longer time-outs for those fits she likes to throw! Still my happy girl though... and my cuddle bug :)

It seemed like a good idea...

to hang the sand box umbrella up on our patio, keeping it out of the way during the winter when it wasn't needed as much. Well, some baby birds beat me to the punch on using it this spring! I should have taken some pictures as soon as I found the nest with eggs in it to remember when we first saw it. Wasn't there one day, then by the time I noticed the nest it already had eggs in it! And I just couldn't make myself take it down... so here we are several weeks later with baby birds cheeping and a whole lot of poop I'm going to have to clean off the umbrella once they move out!

Haven't seen any make attempts to get flying, so I'm not sure how much longer they will be here... probably be here one day, then gone the next! At least they are high enough to be safe from the cats :)

More Adelyn birthday pics :)

After a great day at school, Adelyn got surprised with "rosies" from her Papa and Kenna (any cute flower is a rosie to her... these peonies are just as beautiful though!)...

And a beautiful card from her sister! Kenna is really into making cards now which is great! Low budget and much more special :)

Her birthday present Monday was a remote-controlled My Little Pony scooter! She loved driving it but was terrified when it was moving without her.... What you're missing in this picture is the big sister hiding on the other side of the couch making it move - Adelyn was on the rocking shrimp SO fast!

Then we finally made it outside, oh once it got down to about 92, and let Adelyn drive it around... She also got a big bouncy ball from GrAnne and Grandad but she'll have to get the hang of that! (BTW, the bandaids were a hit mom!)

And to top off the day we had Oreo cake and Adelyn finally got to scream "I'm three!"

Happy Birthday baby girl :)

Happy Birthday Adelyn!

Ask her yesterday how old she was "I'm 2, but I'm going to be three!" This is officially her last photo as a 2-year old...

Waiting for birthday cookies at school, and making sure everyone knows how old she is today!
There's a lot of fire on that little cookie! :)

I think she blew out the candles before Ms. Amy even put it down!!

Cheese! I'm three!!!!

Well the 2's were... um... interesting! And fun, and funny! That's probably the best word to describe her right now - funny! She cracks us up with the things she says, and asks about... And it's funny how she's happy and laughing then mad a minute later - such a temper with that one!
Sometimes it's hard to be mad at her when she's just so stinkin' stubborn! Wonder where she gets it... She's my snuggler, my elephant-kiss girl, my "sure, I love it", and my "I CAN DO IT MYSELF" girl (yes, shouting usually!)... she's my Adelyn! Can't wait to see what three brings...
