Fun with Christmas gifts...

Kenna got a new baby doll for Christmas, and she loves it, but
Adelyn is fascinated! The baby cries, giggles, babbles, etc.
when you press it's tummy, and Adelyn keeps giving it hugs!
It's too cute... I had to catch her playing with it one day while
Kenna was at school because she's pretty protective of her baby...

The girls also got matching ladybug raincoats! Adelyn likes to run around with hers on her head.
Then she tries to zipper it around her waist. Thus we have the next video... (yes it's sideways again...) Adelyn has moved from a 2 "ho,ho" to a full "ho,ho,ho"! Next Christmas ought to be really fun...






and Kenna's matching ladybug umbrella! Now I just have to find some ladybug rainboots! :)

Hair do's

Adelyn's teacher at school loves to 'fix' Adelyn's hair in the afternoon, what little of it there is, and she actually sits still for it, so what the heck! Here are some recent do's:

Chuck E. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeese!

That's what kenna says everytime we drive by the Chuck E. Cheese... there's one not far from our house, and with the weather being a bit colder lately I have broken down and taken them several times since it's food and fun in 1! Our playgroup meets at the one in Grapevine occasionally, and we met my friend Tammy and her boys there right before Christmas to get together! I don't always take pictures when we are there (my girls take enough in those silly photo cars!), but when they seem in a wacky mood I break out the camera...

Kenna's first beau... we love Brayden! :) she held his hand all around the Cheese when we met Tammy and the boys there at Christmas! she likes to think she's in charge! :)

Christmas #2 and the Zoo!

My family made the trip to NRH New Years Day so we could do our Christmas together and hang out together for a few days! Great to see my mom and dad, my sister Meredith and her husband Everett, and their little girl Peyton (who just turned 1 in December!). The cousins had a great time playing and Kenna loved the baking time with GrAnne! She has finally learned to enjoy licking the beater bars and sneaking some tastes of the batter before you make the cookies!

And my little artist drew this picture almost all by herself! Grandad helped her work on the flowers and the flying birds, but she wouldn't let us erase the picture she liked it so much!

Friday we headed to the Fort Worth Zoo since the weather was BEAUTIFUL! When asked her favorite animal Adelyn said and signed "zebra"! I think the other favorites for the day were the giraffes (and the babies), the mama lion sleeping with her cubs, the meerkats that were all about posing for the camera, and the gorilla that was 'strikin a pose'! Joel's entertainment for the day was watching my mom and I try to work with Kenna on her skipping - when are kids supposed to hit that developmental milestone? She doesn't quite get it yet... :)

Happy New Year!

Joel and I didn't have big plans for New Years Eve (just a few movies - I'm impressed I made it to midnight!), but the girls and I partied with our play group at the "Countdown to Noon" party! It was really cute - 11:15 they got 2009 party glasses, 11:30 was those silly hand clapper toys, 11:45 was noise makers, and 12:00 was the balloon drop! I fumbled with the camera at the countdown, but got the balloon drop on camera - such a blast! Thanks Wendi!


So what happens the morning after mom decides to put Adelyn's hair up in a "Pebbles" do on top of her head? her hair is so thin it's hard to take a picture of it, but we were cracking up...
