Only in Texas...
can you play with icicles and frozen precipitation on the ground just a week or so away from washing your car outside on a very warm afternoon...
case in point - January 28th... 24 degrees?
course Kenna still thought it was cold outside :) she picks her clothes out most days and sometimes I just laugh at her choices... I will have to protest if she still loves that outfit in July!

Kenna's First Girly Girl party!
Kenna's friend Elizabeth turned 4 a few weeks ago, and the party was ALL girls at the Girly Girl salon in Keller. Adelyn got to stay home with daddy so I could enjoy some mommy chat time as well at the party! It was a really nice time, although when we first walked in, Kenna didn't want to dress up, didn't want her hair done, and wanted to just hold on to my leg the whole time! So I got to say "Kenna, we came here for a dress-up party. You can hold on to my leg at home if you want. If you don't want to play we will go home. At least put on something." So after perusing the racks of dresses she came up with this one:
She still didn't want her hair done like the other girls but settled for a headband and some glitter spray in the hair. The boa, a heart wand, and a few bracelets she found were great accessories! (thanks to Fancy Nancy that is part of our vocab. now!) Then it was time for the show, and although she was the first one singing when they turned on the microphones, she wouldn't walk down the cat-walk. That's ok - I don't need her any more diva than she is, right? :) They said her name and that she wanted to be a teacher, then she hopped off quickly and then cheered on the other girls from the back of the group. Sometimes I never know what to expect from her... :)

They also got their nails painted - sparkly blue for Kenna! By the end I'm surprised she wasn't saying "Mom I want my party here next year". we'll see...
