Luau day at PSE!

Well the girls made it great through their first week back to school after surgery - the eating was hit or miss but they seemed to be really glad to be back with their friends! For those of you who missed the craziness, both girls had tonsils and adenoids taken out on July 20th - they were way enlarged in both girls and causing sleep issues, amongst other things... Probably crazy to do both girls at one time, but that way they were on the same diet and both taking medicine at the same time - misery loves company, right?

So last week we studied Hawaii in Discovery, and for our Fun Friday last week we had Luau Day! Now this is right up my alley as i LOVE Hawaii, so we had a lot of fun last week! We studied volcanoes, ate pineapple and coconut, and tried to make leis and grass skirts! :P On Fridays everyone dresses up for the theme of the day, and you should have seen how many kids showed up in grass skirts and coconut tops (over their clothes I have to add!)...
I actually let Kenna get her face painted - just a 'little' hibiscus on the cheek :) (She's allergic to face paints, but it seems tempera paint is just fine!) Kenna with friends on the playground...
Chapel time - check out some of the crazy outfits!

And the final ceremonies of the day - the volcano explosion! Sort of sad the small volcano we built for such a big explosion! Diet Coke, red food coloring, and mint Mentos - wow! the kids loved it... :)

Soccer..

Not for the girls - for me! I started playing indoor soccer in May (?) on an over 30 coed team and it has been a lot of fun! Very tough at first, since it is very different from outdoor that I am used to playing, and the fact that I haven't played in so long it is SO tiring... but great exercise!
My mom and dad were in town back in July and came to one of the games, so mom said she would take some pictures - cracks me up to see myself playing (so I thought I would share the humor!). You know i actually look like I know what I'm doing in some of these pictures! :)

I do want to get Kenna started in soccer soon - I think we have decided once she turns 5 we will look into it... She is really going strong in swimming right now, so 1 thing at a time!
