The Quadrangle

Anybody having lived in San Antonio for awhile should have heard about or been to the Fort Sam Houston Quadrangle:
1876
Architect Unknown

"As you step inside the stone walls, you immediately discover the perfect place for families to gather. Inside the fortress deer, ducks, rabbits, and other small animals run free, as do the thousands of children who visit there every year."

Our meetup playgroup tries to go here once a month or so when the weather is nice, and you can always count on the peacocks and roosters to be roaming around. The deer were in their pen this time, and there don't seem to be too many rabbits anymore, but it's still a great place to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the outdoors...

We have a signer!

I was so excited when Adelyn signed "milk" back in December, but she only signed it a few times, and has since pretty much refused, but in the past few days she has been signing "dog" and "more" pretty regularly! Her "dog" sign is right on, although she won't just do it when you ask but whenever she hears the dogs barking or sees them walking around (or sees a dog on t.v.!) - still pretty cool. So today she has really started signing "more" on her own, although it's a bit modified, it still gets the point across. had to have the camera ready today... more clips coming soon i'm sure!

Baby blues...

eyes that is! If you couldn't tell from the Easter picture below, Adelyn is a professional drooler... just like having a bull dog around I guess. And it was really bad when she was "crawling" backwards because you'd find a "slime trail" in front (?) of her! But now she's vertical more and we try to keep a bib handy!

But really, do you notice much drool with those BIG BLUE eyes staring at you???? :)

Easter 2008

Easter was very low key this year, but nice! We went to mass at 8:00, then came home for a great breakfast and an Easter egg hunt (Kenna must have been good this year!)... Adelyn slept through it, but Kenna had fun. Pretty cold here in the morning so the cute dress got swapped out with play clothes and her "furry" Crocs before I would let her outside!

In the afternoon we worked in the yard and Kenna got to use the garden tools she got from Auntie M and Uncle E for Christmas! Her little 3 prong rake was such a big help! She also got to shovel mulch out of the big wheelbarrow! We'll have to remember to take pictures of our next yard cleaning day!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
