So this year we went to my parents house (South Lake Travis, about 20 min. outside Austin) for Easter weekend, and got to see my sister and her family as well! We love to see cousin Pey Pey... Adelyn slept through the egg hunt Saturday afternoon at the neighborhood park, but Kenna had a blast! She was a little overwhelmed being in the 4-8 year old group (man those kids can move!), but she jumped in and with a little help from Mama got some eggs, did a few crafts, and had fun playing on the playground until it started raining!
So Sunday after church we came home to the "real" egg hunt, although it took some convincing to get Kenna to realize that the Easter bunny HIDES eggs - he doesn't just throw them out on the ground like most of the egg hunts she has done this year... and they were fun, don't get me wrong, but she was going to have to look for these eggs! Of course we had a map of where all the eggs where and if it was too easy we made Kenna skip over it... she was a great sport for letting Adelyn find some! They were amazed to find their names on a few eggs, and of course a few were already cracked (in the hiding process no doubt...) but I think next year it will be really interesting!
And when we got home on Sunday we were greeted by our first adult ladybug! Hard to see in the picture, I know, but it is on the 'grey rock' just above the "Ladybug Land" sign. The really big blobs are the raisins we put in for them to feed off of... Just over a week later they are all out (13) and we are releasing them in our garden tomorrow morning (Kenna said it was o.k. to wake her up early for that... I actually think this time she will jump out of bed!)
